We can specify several spheres of OPT heat exchanger application:

  • Standard application:
    • Always when excessive heat of production and other processes is discharged into the atmosphere in metallurgy, petroleum chemistry, engineering, chemical industry, shipbuilding, etc.
  • If heat exchangers of other design is usually not applied:
    • If the flue gas temperature exceeds 1000 -1100 °С
    • If used in flue gases with severe dust content (more than 100 g/m3) and in mediums containing a great number of abrasive compounds
    • If the heat exchanger is operated in highly corrosive mediums
    • If consumption of any gas medium exceeds 500 thous. m3/hour
    • For cycle processes with high temperature and low temperature periods (for example, in nonferrous metals industry)
  • In special cases:
    • If the working space where the heat exchanger can be placed is limited. (under otherwise equal conditions OPT heat exchanger has 2-5 times less volume then other structures)
    • At that the expensive adjustment of gas ducts and external connections is not required. Thus, OPT type heat exchangers of new generation are frequently used in import substitution at the enterprises in different branches of industry.
